For the most part, infant adoption is a joyous experience for all parties. And that's no surprise to anyone who works in adoption or has gone through the process itself. Infant adoption is for the most part a process that has been perfected and is managed by professionals who truly care about the outcome of the child, the adoptive family and the birth family. Foster care, on the other hand, is different. Children in foster care often carry the baggage of abuse or neglect, and are almost never given the treatment, help, or love they deserve.
Attached below is an incredibly well-written, but heartbreaking story of what happens when adoption fails (the child). We highly recommend you take a half-hour out of your day and hear the story of the Estimé children.
